The Black Bull is
uniting two of Branwell Brontë's passions: the pub itself and art! If Branwell's ghost roams around the pub as they say - well, he must be thrilled.
A Haworth pub with 19th-century artistic connections is staging an exhibition of artwork by present-day villagers.
The historic customer of the Black Bull, at the top of Main Street, was the Brontë sisters' painter brother Branwell.
However, the artists displaying work next week are proud to proclaim they do not paint Brontë-based subjects.
The exhibition, Loose Connections, will also help establish a new live acoustic music scene in Haworth.
The art display runs from Tuesday to Sunday - November 14-19 - and features contemporary and modern artists who live locally.
Wednesday sees the first of a weekly session, beginning at 6pm, where acoustic musicians and singers can go along to play.
Anyone can drop in to listen to the music or see the pictures.
The Black Bull has shown a number of works by modern local artists over the past two years but has not previously staged a full exhibition.
Chris McCarthy, one of the artists taking part, said there were few exhibition places for artists who did not want to paint Brontë-based subjects.
He said: "Haworth and surrounding villages are alive with very talented artists who usually have to show their work outside the area.
"Exhibiting at the Bull brings them right into the historic heart of the community - Branwell would have loved it!"
Indeed he would!
