The final episode of BBC's Jane Eyre is presented like this by Alison Graham in RadioTimes:
Passion and pyromania - Jane Eyre has it all. In the final episode (sob) of this fabulous dramatisation, Rochester (the lovely Toby Stephens) makes his most profound declaration of love to Jane (the equally lovely Ruth Wilson). It's a splendid scene, full of unspoken sexual longing and a lot of kissing. Alas, it's too little and too late, as it comes shortly after the terrible outcome of last week's episode when the happy couple's world was sundered. Thus Jane leaves Thornfield Hall to mope around the moors in her bonnet, until kindly parson St John Rivers and his excitable sisters find her. She makes a new life until, one day, the wind cries "Jane"...
