First of all, a comment on something that we published some days ago.
We reported an interview with Emily Barclay, the actress
that will play Anne Brontë in the upcoming biopic Brontë, where she said that the shooting was beginning at the end of the year and that Hungary was one of the locations. Well, it seems that this is not very exact.
Angela Workman, the writer and director of Brontë, has told us:
We did scout in Hungary but we're not considering shooting there now. We are in fact still scouting locations. However, we've had to push the shooting dates back to early next year. We're determined to get this film off the ground as soon as all financing is in place.
The Brontë Parsonage Blog publishes another post devoted to the people who work at the Parsonage.
Some months ago Ann Dinsdale was interviewed by Richard Wilcocks. Now the post is about Polly Salter.
I've been here at the Parsonage now since the beginning of April, 2004. I came from the Calderdale Museum and Arts Service, based at Shibden Hall, which is just outside the centre of Halifax.
The early Nineteenth Century is one of my special interests. I know that the Brontës have been described as being Georgians more than Victorians. I was especially interested in Anne Lister's diaries and letters when I was at Shibden. She was quite an unusual and remarkable woman. (...)
I still notice how much people really care at the Parsonage. Everybody takes the job very seriously. The collection is very impressive and it's all in good condition because of efficient management in the past. There's so much that is original - and of course we have the best research library for the Brontës in the world. If I had to pick out something particularly amazing it would be the little books. They're unique. (Read more)
The Brontë Spirit blog that
we presented a few days ago has been updated as well. With more pictures of the School Room and the Brontë Parsonage Museum from different angles. The picture on this post can be found there.
And by the way,
Pennyforyourdreams has uplodaded the last trail of Jane Eyre. Of course, it seems rather pointless now that the episode can be found and seen, but as Penny says: for the sake of completeness
here it is.
