Laura, who attended the Jane Eyre screening yesterday evening, has kindly answered a few questions we posed her.

The red room scene is very dramatically filmed - the producer has described the adaptation as having the appearance of a "block-buster", rather than a drama serial - and this scene is a very good example of this fact.
The director/screenwriter (although I think it was Sandy) explained that the desert scene was introduced to show how Jane uses her imagination to escape persecution from her aunt and cousins. The scene is visually very striking, as well as quite interesting, so I am happy about its inclusion.

I didn't see any Jamaican flash-backs, but there was a flash-back in Paris with Celine, which was quite nicely done :)

I don't know the actor playing Mr Brocklehurst - but he really looks the part and conveys the character very well, despite the fact that many of his scenes are rushed!
We have been very intrigued for a while now as to who's playing Brocklehurst. We have never been able to find his name or picture (except for this one) yet. Oh well.
