As we published some weeks ago the Taunton Thespians were playing a theatrical (and open-aired) version of Jane Eyre around Somerset county (UK). Now, the Stourbridge Theatre Company presents another production near Dudley, West Midlands (UK).

"Jane Eyre" in the grounds of Himley Hall 19th - 22nd July Charlotte Brontë's well loved classic story of penniless Jane Eyre is brought to life, in an open air production, in the spectacular grounds of Himley Hall (right picture).

The play conveys the exceptional emotional power of the original novel. Focusing on the love story between Jane and Rochester, the action begins as Jane arrives in 1846 to take up the post of governess to Rochester's ward, Adèle, at Thornfield Hall, a place of mystery and fear. Jane and Rochester fall in love but their happiness is jeopardised by the discovery of a terrible secret from Rochester's past, resolved by the dramatic fire which maims him.
