In a sort of minimalist Brontë references contest we have found two mentions in the press today for a Brontë word and a Brontë phrase:

The word

Halcyon: Katherine Houstoun from The Richmond.com apparently find this word fascinating.
I read this word in "Jane Eyre" in high school and fell in love with it, especially when I realized it meant peaceful or tranquil. And now it's the name of one of the best vintage stores in Richmond. My love continues to grow…

The phrase

The StarTribune from Minneapolis reviews the last book by Ivan Doig and quotes a phrase from him that our readers will find a little bit familiar:

"Reader, my story is flirting with you; please love it back". As a matter of fact the complete quote is this one:
'When Charlotte Bronte lifted her pen from Jane Eyre and bequeathed us that most intriguing of plot summaries -- 'Reader, I married him -- ' she also was saying what writers always must do to the eyes on our pages: 'Reader, my story is flirting with you; please love it back.'
