Browsing through the news while we sip our afternoon tea we came across a couple of interesting things.

The Record Eagle has an article on secondhand bookstores. Surely, those places are a haven for all book lovers. Here's one of their finds:

For $1.50, there is Madeleine L'Engle's "Circle of Quiet," a biography in which she tells of days when she feels like Emily Bronte or Jane Austen or Elizabeth Barrett Browning. On those days, she signs her checks with their names, and never once has the bank returned one as fraudulent.

That was hilarious! And it speaks volumes about how little about literature the world knows. Here's more info on this biography.

The Boston News cover the finals of the Poetry Out Loud recitation contest - a spelling bee kind of thing - where

The list of poets students can choose from is vast, representing both past and present: Robert Frost, Emily Brontë, and Maya Angelou, to name a few.

Ooh, here's hoping one of the six finalists will go for some poem by Emily! And good luck to them all :)
