Reading on The Scotsman an article about healthy food and cookies we have found, out of the blue, a Brontë reference:

We've always produced oatcakes and shortbread ever since the company was founded in 1895. But we expanded into cookies in 1971 and we now make Bronte cookies, which is a premium branded biscuit range."

But are these Bronte cookies related to our Brontës? On the Paterson-Arran company website we find the answer:

Bronte is one of the World’s most premium branded biscuit ranges and all varieties are melt in the mouth and luxurious, using the highest quality ingredients. The brand is instantly recognisable and every bit as premium as you would expect of a range named in honour of the Bronte sisters and their work.

These are not the only edible Brontë-related items that have appeared on this blog. Check this Christmas post for more.
