If you happen to be in Cape Twon and feel like seeing something that is remotely Brontë related, don't hesitate to go see Bangbroek. This is the description we have found of this show:

Bangbroek is a one-woman comedy that explores the lives of urban Capetonians.

Premiering at The Cape Town Festival at The Intimate Theatre tomorrow and running until Saturday, Bangbroek is an examination of the modern female condition and how women cope with the trials of everyday life.

Set in an apartment building in Cape Town, the tenants of Wuthering Heights lead separate lives, until the day the girl from number 13 mysteriously disappears. In an attempt to explain what might have happened to the missing girl, the tenants are forced to examine their own fears.

Audiences will be introduced to South African characters who highlight the cultural melting pot that is Cape Town.

With xenophobic matriarchs, awkward teenagers, reluctant superheroes and desperate, single bridesmaids, this is a show for all who wonder about the absurdly paranoid state of modern women and how they interact with one another.

Coba Maryn stars in the show which is directed by and workshopped by Ardine Fick.

Tickets can be found here, and also further details on this event:

An excitingly fresh Afrikaans piece from the founders of Marie Biscuit Productions is a must see for all comedy lovers. It is a humorous one-woman show set in an apartment building in modern day Cape Town. Audiences will easily identify with the colourful, unique and truly South-African characters. It's a show for all who wonder about the absurdly paranoid state of modern man.
