Thanks to Sarah from the Brontë List, we now know that when you vist Penzance you can not only look around the former home of the Branwells, but also stay in it!

Rural Retreats has it on their catalogue, and it looks like a really nice place:

The Bronte House is a 200 year old Georgian property located in historic Chapel Street, Penzance. It was the home of Maria and Elizabeth Branwell, mother and aunt to Charlotte, Emily, Anne and Branwell Bronte. There is a plaque outside the front door and a booklet detailing the history of the house. At the rear of the property, there is a slate patio from where a winding path leading through the exotic, south facing, walled garden to a decking area with summerhouse, giving wide reaching views across Mounts Bay. The rear bedrooms also enjoy excellent sea views. The restaurants, pubs and shops in Penzance are only a short walk away while a 20 minute stroll along the Promenade leads to Newlyn, England's most valuable fishing port. Consequently many local restaurants and pubs serve excellent fresh seafood, including crab, sea bass and sole. Penzance is an ideal base to explore beautiful West Cornwall from Land's End to the Lizard, with its cliff walks and sandy beaches. St Michael's Mount and the picturesque village of Mousehole are close by, with the Tate Gallery at St Ives, and the Minack Theatre within a 20 minute drive. The Scilly Isles can be enjoyed on a day trip on the Scillonian ferry service which leaves Penzance harbour, less than 5 minutes walk from the house, or by helicopter from the local heliport.

It accommodates 7 guests, and should be quite an experience. For more info (prices, facilities, more pictures) check out their site and dream away - or make it real!
