If you are a truly Wuthering Heights completist, you'd like to know that last October a CD was released on which the most-wanted Michel Legrand's composition for the 1970 Wuthering Height's film version is finally available again. The film is directed by Robert Fuest (yes, the one with Timothy Dalton). It's not the complete soundtrack (that was available in the American International Records-AIR catalog... a long, long time ago), but at least, it's something.

The main theme is included on the album "The Essential Michel Legrand Film Music Collection" published by Silva Screen in the UK last October 17, according to amazon.co.uk, and in the USA last October 4, according to amazon. The Flemish Radio Orchestra directed by Michel Legrand himself plays 13 tracks covering his film career. The ninth track is devoted to Wuthering Heights. If you want to listen to a sample, here is your chance.

  1. I actually bought the AIR recording in 1971 --- Can someone put this amazing score on CD for all Legrand admirers!!!!??? It is so intense and beautiful just like the story...Who knew jazz and classical themes and instuments like the harpsicord could do such things back in the early 70's...
