As we have been informing in previous posts, the Shared Experience company is touring around Britain with "Brontë", Polly Teale's play. Next 13 October, the play itself will be published by Nick Hern Books.

The turbulent lives of the Brontë sisters - a new drama from Polly Teale and Shared Experience: the team behind After Mrs Rochester and Jane Eyre. The short troubled lives of the Brontë sisters have become one the great literary myths of all time. How was it possible that three women who had never had sex, had proably never been kissed, could write some of the most erotic literature of all time? And why sould these plain, reclusive women, who lived in rural isolation, have invented such stories. What was it in their lives that compelled them to write with such passion and power?

If for you it's not enough to read the play but need to see it performed, you still have the chance:

Dublin Theatre Festival Project Arts Centre, Dublin 4 - 8 October
York Theatre Royal York 11 - 15 October
Oxford Playhouse Oxford 18 - 22 October
Liverpool Playhouse Liverpool 25 - 29 October
Lyric Hammersmith London 1 - 26 November
The Lowry Salford 29 November - 3 December
