BrontëBlog has more news about the new Wuthering Height's stage adaptation that is currently on tour around Great Britain. The Love & Madness Ensemble is touring with a double bill including Wuthering Heights and Shakespeare's Twelfth night (on different days though). According to their press release:

The LOVE&MADNESS ensemble featuring a 10 strong cast perform two of the most popular and enduring titles in English literature. Both are performed in the unique, fast moving, bold and above all accessible style that LOVE&MADNESS have been developing and perfecting to great audience and critical acclaim over the last five year.

Emily Bronté’s only novel is presented in a newly commissioned stage adaptation. This classic nineteenth century tale is thrillingly brought to life in an energetic production taking a fresh, unsentimental approach to a landmark tragic story. Set amid the chaos of a working Yorkshire farm, Heathcliff, the outsider, develops intense feelings of love and betrayal. His adoptive family turns against him and his beloved Cathy marries above him. Expect high drama, passion, humour, bad weather and dangerous dogs!

‘LOVE&MADNESS reclaim the classics’ The List

(Hard Times)

‘Two classic stories of one soul craving another. This need for the other to create a whole, we call love, and the journey to find it can lead to madness’

Neil Sheppeck, Artistic Director
