Let's take a pause in the discussion if Margot Robbie's pince nez red glasses in Wuthering Heights 2026 are more Gary Oldman in Bram Stoker's Dracula than Ozzy Osbourne. Important as it is, there other things in the Brontë world:
Brontë Society Conference 2025
Bradford Arts Centre
Saturday 6 September 2025

Join us for a day of discussion and debate in Bradford as it celebrates UK City of Culture!

Open to all – researchers, students and Brontë enthusiasts alike – the conference programme is wide-ranging and spans everything from the Brontës’ Irish identity, to polar landscapes, racialisation, ‘the Question of China’, Africa in the juvenilia and more.
We’re also delighted to welcome Professor Corinne Fowler, Professor of Colonialism and Heritage at the University of Leicester, as our keynote speaker.
