The Telegraph and Argus reports that Haworth has been declared one of the most beautiful villages in Britain by the Daily Mail.
The publisher commented: “Best known as home of the Brontës, Haworth sits against wild and remote moorland which provided the sisters with so much inspiration.
Ben Waites, director at Charnock Bates, who is a specialist in selling fine country and period homes explained: “With its cobbled streets, historic stone buildings, 16th-century pubs and even an apothecary-style shop, the village feels like a step back in time.”
Visit Bradford also adds The Keighley Worth Valley steam railway stops at Haworth on its journey between Keighley and Oxenhope, “taking in the beautiful countryside”.
The tourism website shared: “Excellent shops, restaurants and accommodation can also be found in and around the village and for those who like the outdoors there are endless opportunities to discover Brontë Country.” (Molly Court)

Your favourite literary character? Antoinette in Wide Sargasso Sea by Jean Rhys. Infuriated at Brontë’s “madwoman in the attic”, Rhys gives us her beautiful, vulnerable, marooned Creole, who Rochester is first entranced by, then gaslights. He trousers her fortune, drags her home to Thornfield Hall, convincing her she’s mad.

Jane Eyre (2011)
Mia Wasikowska and Michael Fassbender lead this moody and romantic adaptation of Charlotte Brontë’s most famous novel. After enduring a cruel and abusive childhood as an orphan, Jane Eyre (Mia Wasikowska) hopes to gain some independence by seeking employment as a governess at Thornfield Hall. There, Jane develops a unique and complex relationship with Thornfield’s owner, the brooding Mr. Rochester. While the two come to realize their feelings for each other are more than just friendly, a disturbing mystery keeps them from taking their relationship further. (Chelsey Sanchez)
This contributor to Far Out Magazine never misses a chance to criticise the forthcoming Wuthering Heights, even if she's writing an article about Gene Hackman.
Many directors have attempted to turn classic novels into films, ranging from Baz Luhrmann’s adaptation of The Great Gatsby to the disastrous It Ends With Us series. When working with a well-known text, it can be nearly impossible to do so without immense scrutiny from fans of the original story, something that is being seen in spades with Emerald Fennell’s controversial adaptation of Wuthering Heights, with many criticising their insensitive approach to casting and whitewashing of such a pivotal story. Wuthering Heights – Emily Brontë 🌫️💔
**Album: Florence + The Machine – Ceremonials**
Emily Brontë’s “Wuthering Heights” is a storm of emotions, a tale of love and revenge that echoes the powerful crescendos in Florence + The Machine’s “Ceremonials.” The raw passion of the moors is mirrored in Florence Welch’s soaring vocals and the gothic soundscapes of the album. Both the novel and the album explore the depths of human obsession and the haunting nature of unrequited love. The intense relationships that Brontë writes about are vividly brought to life by the dramatic and often ethereal music of Florence + The Machine. This pairing is an emotional rollercoaster that taps into the very essence of human emotion, making it ideal for those who want to delve into the darker side of love. On a rainy weekend, it’s a chance to embrace the storm within and let the music and words take you on a journey. [...]

**Album: Hozier – Hozier**
Charlotte Brontë’s “Jane Eyre” is a story of love, independence, and resilience, themes that are beautifully mirrored in Hozier’s emotive and soulful music. The gothic elements of the novel are complemented by Hozier’s poetic lyricism and brooding melodies. Both works explore the journey of self-discovery and the strength found in vulnerability, making this pairing a powerful one for a cozy weekend. The narrative of Jane’s passionate journey combined with Hozier’s heartfelt music creates an immersive experience that touches the soul. It’s a chance to get lost in a world where love and perseverance triumph over adversity, with the rain providing a soothing soundtrack to this timeless tale. (Christian Wiedeck, M.Sc.)
