A Zoom alert for tomorrow, January 16:
Wednesday 17 January 2024
19.30 h

Join us on the anniversary of Anne Brontë’s birth to celebrate our sometimes-forgotten sister, Anne.

Following her hugely popular film-poem ‘Say It Anyway’, commissioned in celebration of Anne Brontë’s bicentenary in 2020, poet and former writer-in-residence Jasmine Gardosi returns to the Brontë Parsonage Museum with a writing workshop that questions what we think we know about the sometimes-forgotten Brontë sister.

While researching for ‘Say It Anyway’, Jasmine discovered that Anne was not the meek 'other' sister she is sometimes assumed to be, with her original texts near but all edited, abridged, or mis-interpreted. In this writing workshop, Jasmine will encourage you to look at Anne’s legacy with fresh perspective, and draw inspiration from Anne’s fiery and outspoken nature.
