The Irish News interviews the writer Neil Hegarty:
Jenny Lee: Favourite authors?
N.H.: I love Alice Munro’s short fiction: her (long) short story Hateship, Friendship, Courtship, Loveship, Marriage transports me every time I read it. Recently, Deirdre Madden was in conversation at the Belfast Book Festival, which was for me a chance to recall how much I admire her novels, including Hidden Symptoms and One by One in the Darkness. And the third Brontë: Anne Brontë’s novels, daring and revolutionary, have always struck me as being miles ahead of their time politically, culturally, and socially.
A rescue operation near the Brontë Falls in Haworth in The Telegraph & Argus. Also, in local news, the new book by Rowan Coleman will be presented in Haworth in early August. In Keighley News:
Best-selling author Rowan Coleman is the latest writer heading to Haworth.
She will be at Cobbles & Clay, in Main Street, on Wednesday, August 2, to sign copies of and read from her new time-travelling romance From Now until Forever.
Her visit is welcomed by Diane Park, owner of the neighbouring independent bookshop Wave of Nostalgia.
She says: "Rowan is one of our favourite authors – her Brontë Mystery Series, writing as Bella Ellis, is extraordinarily popular with our customers. (Alistair Shand)
English News Track (India) talks about the impact of classic literature in modern culture and values:
Empowerment and Identity
Certain classic literary characters have become symbols of empowerment and identity. Characters like Jane Eyre, Elizabeth Bennet, or Jay Gatsby have resonated with readers due to their courage, resilience, and pursuit of individuality. These characters have become role models, empowering readers to embrace their uniqueness and challenge societal norms. (Sanskar Tiwari)
de Volkskrant (Netherlands) reviews the recent recording of Bernard Herrmann's Suite from Wuthering Heights
(Jenny Camilleri) (Translation)
The best books to read before you get thirty years old, according to mynet (Turkey):
Başta kadınlar olmak üzere hayatının sorumluluklarını eline almak isteyen herkes için: Jane Eyre-Charlotte Brontë
Özellikle genç yaştaki kadınlara ilham veren Jane Eyre isimli kitap, küçük yaşta öksüz kalan Jane Eyre’in zorlu hayat mücadelesinin ardından tamamen kendi çabalarıyla hayatını inşa edişini ve çocukluğundan yetişkinliğe kadar yaşadıklarını anlatıyor. Aynı zamanda Victoria Dönemi İngiltere'sini de yansıtan kitap; farklı sınıftan iki kişinin aşkını, dönemin dinî baskısını, sınıf ayrımını ve erkek egemen düzenini net bir şekilde ortaya koyuyor. Libreriamo (Italy) has asked their readers about their most-loved literary characters:
4. Jane Eyre
(Translation)

Emily will be premiered on Spain's streaming services in August as we can read in Mundoplus. A quote by Anne Brontë in Bola (Indonesia). And a fragment from an Emily poem in Tribuna do Norte (Brazil). Yenigün (Turkey) asks ChatGPT about the best novels ever and Wuthering Heights turns out to be on the list. True love quotes in Markmedia (Romania) including one by Emily.
