Are there any roles that are still on your bucket list?

So many. I was supposed to do Swan Lake but then Covid happened so that’s still a massive dream for me. Sleeping Beauty is also a dream. Gisele wasn’t when I was younger, but now that I’m a little bit older, I would quite like to do it because it has all the things which I’m actually not very good at. I never wanted to do it because I thought it wasn’t me but now I think that’s exactly why I should do it. I’d also really like to do Kathy [sic] from Wuthering Heights. It’s quite an extensive list! Vir del Mar: Para nuestras generaciones, quizás más consumidoras del terror en la pantalla, tus libros significaron un nuevo acercamiento al género. ¿Qué es lo que te convoca del terror?

M.E.:Cuando empecé a leer y a mirar películas, las dos cosas al mismo tiempo, empecé leyendo terror o buscando cosas que fuesen más o menos terroríficas. Por ejemplo, de muy pendeja, leía Cortázar y no es necesariamente un autor de terror, pero tiene algunos cuentos de terror y yo los percibía; ese entrenamiento era por ver películas de terror. Me escapé a los 13 años, fui a ver “Pesadilla”, quería ver a Freddy en el cine. Consumía todo eso, al mismo tiempo que consumía literatura de terror, desde Poe, Lovecraft, o sea, los clásicos, cosas locales que tuvieran algo inquietante. Y mucho gótico, Mery [sic] Shelley, las hermanas Brontë, que, aunque no es terror, todos sus libros tienen algo demoníaco, oscuro y era la estética que me atraía; y, después, un poquito más grande, pero no mucho, diez, once años, encontré Stephen King. Núvol (in Catalan) mentions Wuthering Heights in connection with Víctor Català's novel Solitud.
