Amber is a contributor and board member and has been involved in JCP since 2002. Amber’s mother loved the story of Jane Eyre and actually named her daughter after one of the characters from the book. “I was introduced at a young age and I loved it, too,” said Amber. “I have been tossing around the idea of doing the show for 10 years.
There were a lot of scripts but each one that I read just didn’t stay true to the integrity of the novel, I felt, and since [Jane Eyre] is public domain, I decided to write my own.” Jane Eyre is an intelligent child, whose parents passed away while she was an infant. Taken in by her uncle, Mr. Reed, she was loved and well cared for. But her uncle soon passed away, and his wife had become jealous of the attention he gave Jane so she plotted to send her away. Jane eventually falls in love and then finds her way back. (Kylan Higgs)
