A screening of
Emily and a Q&A session with Sassy Holmes, programme officer of the Brontë Society and Brontë Parsonage Museum:
10 March 23, 7pm, £9/£8
Otley Courthouse
We're delighted to be screening this haunting and mysterious account of Yorkshire's greatest and most enigmatic writer.
Frances O'Connor's directorial debut is a fictionalised biography about one of the world's best known writers. This is the story of Emily Brontë. It is the story of a transformative, exhilarating, and uplifting journey from rebel and misfit to womanhood.
Sassy Holmes, Programme Officer of the Brontë Society and Brontë Parsonage Museum, will also be joining us for the evening. Having worked directly with director Frances O'Connor and Warner Bros, there will be an opportunity to talk to Sassy and ask her any questions after the screening. Her day-to-day work sees her curating talks, workshops and other events inspired by the Brontës, as well as commissioning writers and artists. It will be an unforgettable cinematic event.
