S2 E1: With... Jenny Mitchell
-
Welcome back to Behind the Glass with this early-release first episode of
series 2 !
Sam and new co-host Connie talk to prize-winning poet Jenny Mitchell...
Well, this is not an advert (but if the good people of Aston Martin want to give us something for this promotion we will happily oblige). Check out the latest advert for the Aston Martin DBS 770 Ultimate and maybe you'll recognize something familiar:
Yes, you're not mistaken. It is Emily Brontë's The Night is Darkening Round Me aka Spellbound.
The DBS 770 Ultimate is the “final edition flagship to surpass them all,” the company said in a very cryptic press release. The video didn’t add much information as it was a dramatic recitation of Emily Bronte’s poem “Spellbound” over mostly black and white flashing images of mostly dark clouds and other dark things with mere glimpses of a sporty-looking vehicle. (Suzanne McElligott)
Teased in a new video that reveals little of the car but suggests high drama, Aston Martin opted for poetry by Emily Brontë and accompanying dark imagery to hype the DBS 770 Ultimate. (Kristin Show)
Amid images of storm clouds forming, a wick for a dynamite stick burning, and pressure building, a baritone voice narrates the video with a poem called "The night is darkening round me" by British author and poet Emily Brontë, probably best known for her book Wuthering Heights. (Eric Stafford)
