Stute Theatre’s latest touring production brings you the best-known, most-loved family of writers in English literature – the brilliant and passionate Brontë sisters.

But… how to tell their story?
A historical adaptation complete with bonnets, bustles and books?
A creative revolution on the isolated moors?
Or a fast-paced flurry of spoken words and ideas?

With live looped spoken word, soaring vocal harmonies and an unexpected twist; this modern adaptation shines a new light on the artistry and resilience of three remarkable Yorkshire women.

The Brontës. Reimagined, retold and reclaimed.

Created by award-winning thatre company Stute Theatre and written by Sophia Hatfield and Lisa Cagnacci, this is the Bronteë story, but not as you know it.

Broadway World gives some more information:
Co-writer and composer Sophia Hatfield said, "From the moment I discovered Wuthering Heights, aged 10, in the beige
armchair of a school library in Baildon, journeying through the Brontës' body of work has been an adventure and a source of inspiration. The Brontës paved a new path for female writers. They proved that women could be grafters and artists, juggling work lives, home lives and everything else in between, whilst still crafting incredible stories. I Am No Bird has been years in the making and I'm absolutely delighted to be collaborating with such an amazing, female-led creative team to fully realise this production."
