An evening with the author of The Loney & Starve Acr

Our March visitor to the Brontë Lounge is Andrew Michael Hurley, the award-winning author of Starve Acre (2019) and The Loney (2014).

In this zoom event, Andrew will talk to our host Helen Meller about his evocation of northern Gothic landscape, atmosphere and folklore through his work, and what it means to write in this tradition.

Andrew Michael Hurley is based in Lancashire. His first novel, The Loney (2014), was described as “an amazing piece of fiction” by none other than Stephen King, and won the Costa Best First Novel Award. It has been published in twenty languages. His second novel, Devil’s Day, won the Encore Award. Starve Acre, his third novel, was released in 2019.
