The second edition of the Poetry at the Parsonage festival opens todaymorrow, July 1:
Poetry Open Mic
in The Old School Room
July 01st 2017 11:00am - 05:00pm

Come along to the Old School Room and enjoy readings from over 30 poets from around the region, showcasing the best of Yorkshire’s poetic talent. Mark Connors of Word Club, Leeds, will be your compere for the day as we celebrate the talents of verse-smiths and rhymers, lyricists, storytellers, rappers, slammers, verbal improvisers, street rhetoricians, pop-up poets and spoken word artists of every persuasion. Entry is free and there will be a bar serving refreshments throughout the day. Not to be missed!

The open mic session offers the perfect opportunity to demonstrate your poetic flair, share your work, or simply ‘have a go’ at performing your material for the first time. You’ll find a warm supportive audience in the Old School Room, and an experienced compere in the form of Mark Connors of Word Club, Leeds. Our schedule of poets for the day is now complete, but if you’d like to express your interest and be added to our reserve list, please email diane.fare@bronte.org.uk, expressing a preference for either the 11am-2pm or 2pm-5pm slots – we’ll do our best to accommodate your requests!
