An alert from the Huddersfield Literary Festival 2016:

Charlotte Brontë: A Life, with Claire Harman & Joanne Harris
11.30am (running time approx 1 hour)
Yorkshire Children’s Centre, Brian Jackson House, New North Parade (behind the railway station) HD1 5JP

To mark the 200th anniversary of Charlotte Brontë’s birth, acclaimed literary biographer Claire Harman has produced a landmark work about the author of Jane Eyre, whose short life reflected all the drama and tragedy of her revolutionary Gothic novels.
In this unique event, Claire Harman talks to novelist Joanne Harris about the new kinds of heroines Charlotte Brontë created, her role as the driving force behind the family, including encouraging sister Emily to publish Wuthering Heights, her private passions and the circumstances behind her early death.
