Today, Elizabeth Gaskell's House at 84 Plymouth Grove Manchester re-opens:Elizabeth Gaskell's House in Manchester was the home of the famous author of Mary Barton, Cranford, North and South, Ruth and Wives and Daughters. Her novels are enjoyed on television, stage and radio.
This beautifully restored home will re-open on Sunday 5 October 2014. It has spectacular period rooms and garden, a tea room, and there is a programme of exhibitions and events planned for everyone to enjoy.
