The South Pennines Walk & Ride Festival 2012 begins tomorrow September 8. Several Brontë-related walks and events can be found:

The Haworth Starlight Hike will take Sue Ryder Stars like you, on a journey through some of the main attractions of the area. Home of the Bronte sisters, Haworth is nestled in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales.
Our night kicks off at with entertainment and a fun warm up before our walkers set off under the stars at 11pm. The 10k route will pass through a candle lit Manorlands Hospice so you can see where the funds you raise are spent. Once finished walkers will be rewarded with a delicious hot breakfast, and well deserved goody bag.

The Brontë Bike Challenge, sponsored by Walkers Chartered
Accountants, has been freshened up for 2012 with a new 26 mile Charlotte
route as well as keeping the existing Emily and the Anne routes which
have proven so successful in previous years.
The three routes are named after the Brontë sisters who took inspiration
for their famous written works from the stunning landscape that the
riders encounter. The event is ideal for both mountain bikers and X
bikers so whatever your style why not sign up, take the challenge and
tackle the Brontë Bike Challenge in 2012?
