First, we would like to present a treasure for the soundtracks collectors. Film Score Monthly releases the Elmer Bernstein's Film Collection in a 12CD Box Set. Included in the collection is Elmer Bernstein mythical version of the Alfred Newman's soundtrack for the classical 1939's Wuthering Heights directed by William Wyler.

Film Score Monthly presents one of the most important series of film score recordings of all time: Elmer Bernstein's Film Music Collection. From 1974 to 1979 legendary composer Elmer Bernstein financed his own series of classic film score LPs which he distributed through a mail order club. Though a few of the albums were reissued on LP -- and one on CD -- the entire series has long been out-of-print and a "Holy Grail" for film music aficionados. (...)

The albums were all conducted by Bernstein in England, many with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. (...) Unfortunately, one of the recording venues Elmer Bernstein used for the Film Music Collection -- Olympic Studios in London -- subsequently closed its doors and threw out the irreplacable master tapes. For this reason, five albums comprising four CDs in this FMC box set -- Wuthering Heights, Viva Zapata!/Death of a Salesman, Madame Bovary, and both Dimitri Tiomkin albums -- have been mastered from sealed LPs. FSM has meticulously transferred numerous copies of the vinyl to present high-quality transfers far superior to any home clean-up. (...)

For contractual reasons, there are currently no plans to release these albums separately, and some of them may never be otherwise available. The box set is limited to 2,000 copies -- first-come, first-served.

We also would like to present a new musical project centered in a Brontë novel. Fabio Zuffanti, the man behind one of Italy's most impressive progressive rock projects FINISTERRE; without forgotting his own group HÖSTSONATEN, the electronic ambient project QUADRAPHONIC, the new group LAZONA, and finally the collaboration with the English lyricist and poet Victoria HEWARD in the opera rock "MERLIN" (source), is working on a new musical around Wuthering Heights: Cime Tempestose:

At this moment I am still working on the composition of the musical. For now I composed only a part of it but one song has been already performed by Simona Angioloni ( that will perform Cathy ) on a concert here in Liguria last week.
I plan to finish the writing and start the theatrical work and production at the end of this year and I hope very much to record the opera and perform it in the theatres in 2007/2008

The mentioned song is "La mia follia" (My madness) that was performed by Simona Angilioni in the 2006 Voce in Transito Song Festival (source).
