So far this film had only been released in Spain. Dario informed us about this a few months ago but since it had been already released before BrontëBlog was born we didn't mention it. In our humble opinion we must say this is a great film - especially as far as Brontë biopics are concerned. We will see how the new one starring Michelle Williams will fare.
Once you get used to hearing the Brontë sisters and their relatives speak in fluent French, you realise the extent to which it has captured the Brontës' lives. Though it doesn't follow the biographies to the letter it does explain what the Brontës' lives were like, and there are many letters and poems quoted verbatim (in French). So don't be afraid, this is no Devotion.
Except for the ending, that is. Get it, watch it and judge for yourselves!
