1. A bed:

The shop [Marlborough Antiques on Matlock Green] has also bought the bed featured in the recent television series Jane Eyre.

The bed is burnt during one heart stopping scene and will be displayed at the shop too. (Colleen Marples in Matlock Today)

The scene with the burning bed was shot in a warehouse on an industrial estate near Chesterfield.

2. Ugly Betty, that according to the Daily Mail it's in the Ugly Ducklings category, that also includes Jane Eyre it seems:

Her character draws on a rich literary history of Ugly Ducklings who, though meek and unassuming, inherit the world and along the way are often transformed by love into something approaching swans.

Mr Bradford [Chris Bradford, who owns the Old White Lion, in Haworth] said he was disappointed at the lack of space devoted to Bronte Country in the new Bradford district visitor's guide.

"I don't really think it does enough to sell Bronte Country," he said.

"With the amount of money going into the design, I just think it could have been done better."

The 2007 brochure includes a double-page spread on Bronte Country and features attractions such as the Brontë Parsonage Museum, the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, Keighley Bus Museum and Haworth's Main Street.

The guide's front cover is illustrated with a vivid colour photograph of the Cow and Calf rocks, near Ilkley.

Mr Bradford asked why the cover could not include more than one photograph, to guarantee Bronte Country greater prominence.

John Swinburn, the tourism marketing manager for Bradford Council, said it was not always easy to find the right balance between the different areas within Bradford district.

"Last year we put a picture of Top Withens on the front cover and we got slated by the Ilkley and Wharfedale Tourism Partnership," he said. (Miran Rahman)
