US version of Reader, I Married Him reviewed

On May 1 the US version of Reader, I Married Him was released in paperback. The book by Michèle Roberts was published in Europe back in January in paperback format as well. There's a lengthy synopsis-cum-review-cum a few spoilers of this book at M&C. It begins with:

Echoes of Brontë and du Maurier reverberate in this black comedy from prolific Franco-British novelist Roberts (The Mistressclass, 2003, etc.) about a thrice-widowed British woman visiting Italy.

And ends with these unforgettable words:

Junk food for spiritually oriented intellectuals.

Catchy phrase, eh? Just read the book and if you consider it like junk food then you'll know you are a spiritually oriented intellectual - just like one of those quizzes! :P
